Ice skating under the stars, lights, and Santa
The farm lights up, the rink goes in outside, and the whole place turns into the kind of winter evening you drive out of town for. Skate under the stars, warm up at a firepit, and get your hands around a hot chocolate. It is our first Christmas season, which means you get to be there for the very first one.
- Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only, November 27 through December 27, 2026. Fridays 4 – 11 PM, Saturdays and Sundays noon – 11 PM.
- Closed on Christmas Day so our team can spend the day with their families.
- Skating is included with admission.

Hear from the families who come back
What should we wear?
Closed-toed shoes, layered clothing, and sturdy things you would not mind getting a little dirty. We sit on acres of open Colorado prairie at about 6,400 feet, and the weather out here has a sense of humour.
What happens if the weather turns?
Check the forecast before you drive out — there is a live one in the header of this site. If we have to close for weather we will post it here and on our Facebook page as early as we can.
Do we need to buy tickets in advance?
Yes. Every ticket carries a waiver that has to be signed, so tickets are bought online whether you do it at home or on your phone at the gate. Doing it before you set off means you walk straight in.
What is included with admission at The Patch?
Nearly everything. One admission covers ice skating, including skate rental, on our synthetic rink — open in every season, not just winter. It also covers the corn mazes, the hay wagon ride, the barrel train, the jumping pillows, the giant slide, the low ropes course, straw mountain, the corn cribs, mini golf, games, photo opportunities and the Farm Friends barnyard.
The only things that cost extra are the ones you use or take home: cow cuddling with Merida, and food.
Where is The Patch and how far is it from Denver?
The Patch is at 7400 SH-86, Kiowa, Colorado 80117 — a short country drive south-east of Denver and north-east of Colorado Springs, roughly an hour from either.
Parking is free, on pasture grass at the south end of the property.
Is The Patch open year-round?
No. The Patch opens for four separate seasonal events throughout the year, and we are closed between seasons.
Fall Festival runs September 19 to October 31, 2026, Saturdays and Sundays plus October 15 and 16. Christmas at The Patch runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from November 27 to December 27, 2026, closed on Christmas Day. Bunny Trails & Cow Tails is March 20, 21 and 27, 2027. Summer Nights is Saturdays from June 5 to July 31, 2027.
So there is a reason to come back through the year, but always check the season you are planning for.
